WELCOME TO OUR FAQ PAGE

Thank you for taking the time to browse through our website. It is our goal to help you fight back against the traffic tickets you receive.

In our FAQ section, you will be able to see answers to some of the most asked questions. If you cannot find an answer to a question you have, feel free to give us a call.

1. When does an accident have to be reported?

An accident needs to be reported to police when it involves a personal injury, more than $1,000 worth of damage, or when there is damage to highway property.

2. I am not sure if I have insurance. Should I avoid driving?

Yes. You should contact the insurance company you believe you have insurance through. If you have a vehicle registered in Canada, you can call the Ministry of Transportation and find out if they have insurance information on file for you. If you do not have insurance, you need to get a policy and ensure it is active before you begin driving.

3. Can I be arrested for driving on a suspended license?

Yes. In fact, you face a possibility of up to six months in jail.

4. What are demerit points?

Demerit points are a point system to determine when your license should be suspended or revoked. Each traffic infraction carries a number of demerit points and when you receive a ticket, the demerit points are added to your record. When you reach 15 points, your license is suspended.

For example, fail to remain at an accident scene can net you seven demerit points while failing to yield the right of way will net you three.

5. How much is the fine for running a stop sign?

If you run a stop sign, you will face a $110 fine along with three demerit points.

6. Will you help me win my case?

Our professional Toronto traffic lawyers work hard to prepare a defense for you. We will be by your side and fight aggressively to get your ticket thrown out. Sometimes, there is enough evidence to uphold the ticket, and in these instances, we will fight to reduce the fine, jail time, and other penalties that come along with it.
